Displaying 1 - 30 of reviews. Här ligger jag och gråter Trevor Incogneato. I read this book in the original Swedish because I figured the text would be simpler. That assumption is correct, and anyone looking for an easy, good read will like this book.

It was written for young adults, and the protagonist is sixteen years old. It also won the August Prize in which is an annual Swedish literary prize. One weekend, her mother goes missing, and what follows is about solving the mystery of what happened to her. Maja is the recipient of numerous physical wounds throughout the book. These are metaphors for her internal turmoil and for growing up with an emotionally detached mother.

Spoilers below: There are two things that bothered me while reading this book: 1. The book spends a lot of time finding reasons to avoid the obvious: Maja should have immediately reported her mother missing. Several characters in the book point this out, including her father.
